What does hifem do?
Muscle building and fat burning
HIFEM (High-Intensity Focused Electromagnetic) technology is revolutionary because it targets muscle building and fat loss simultaneously. During a treatment with HIFEM, electromagnetic pulses are sent to the deeper muscle layers, causing an intense and constant contraction of the muscles, much more powerful than what you would achieve with normal physical training. These supramaximal muscle contractions activate all muscle fibers in the treated area, leading to a significant increase in muscle mass.
In addition to muscle building, HIFEM also provides fat burning. During the intense muscle contractions, the muscles consume huge amounts of energy, leading to an accelerated metabolism in the treated area. This process causes fat cells to be broken down and eventually eliminated by the body. Studies have shown that HIFEM treatments can achieve an average fat reduction of 19% and an increase in muscle mass of 16% after a full session cycle.
HIFEM or EMS body sculpt
EMS (Electro Muscle Stimulation) and HIFEM both stimulate muscle contractions, but HIFEM is much more powerful and effective. EMS stimulates superficial muscle groups through electrical pulses, but HIFEM goes deeper and more intense by using focused electromagnetic energy. Preparation and aftercare for a body sculpting treatment
Treatment cannot be performed when:
- You are tanned by sun, self-tanner, spray tan or tanning bed
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding
It is important to avoid sun and tanning beds both 6 weeks before and after treatment. We also recommend using a sunscreen with high protection factor.
After treatment, the pigment spot may first darken before becoming lighter. It is best to stay away from the skin as much as possible during the recovery period. For a more intense treatment, our Laserat cream (specially developed for after laser treatment) can also be used.
