Effect of chemical peeling
What does a chemical peel do?

What is the procedure for a chemical peel treatment?
A chemical peel begins by thoroughly cleansing the skin. Then the peeling, tailored to your skin type and skin problem, is applied to the skin in a thin layer. Depending on the intensity, you may feel a slight burning sensation during the treatment. The active substances in the peeling ensure that dead skin cells are released and skin renewal is stimulated.
Then we always apply a caring cream to soothe and moisturize the skin.
At Skincenters we also always conclude with a Healite treatment, this works using low-level light therapy which shortens the recovery time and enhances the effect of the peel.
A chemical peel is suitable for addressing various skin problems, such as:
- Skin Rejuvenation
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Unevenness
- Coarse pores
- Acne(scars)
- Sun damage
- Hyperpigmentation
- Pigmentation spots

When will you see results from a chemical peel?
After a chemical peel, the skin usually begins to peel within a few days, which is the first sign of skin renewal. The first results, such as smoother and tighter skin, are visible after about one week. For best results, consider a period of 4 to 6 weeks, during which the skin continues to repair and renew.
Depending on the indication, 1 or more treatments are required.

Preparation and aftercare for a chemical peel
It is important to avoid sun and tanning beds both 6 weeks before and after treatment. We also recommend using a sunscreen with high protection factor.
After treatment, the skin may remain temporarily sensitive/red, eventually the top layer will peel off. It is best to stay away from the skin as much as possible during the recovery period.

Frequently Asked Questions/FAQ about a chemical peel
A chemical peel ensures that the top layer of the skin (dead skin cells) is removed. This also ensures that pigment spots, blemishes, large pores, etc. fade or disappear.
A chemical peel is generally not considered painful. However, the skin may feel a little burning or tightness shortly after treatment.
No. Exfoliation only accelerates skin renewal and thus removes dead skin cells.
The price starts from € 100. This includes the peeling as well as a Healite session. The Healite (low level light system) is going to increase the effect of the treatment and speed up the recovery process of the skin.
Yes, after a chemical peel, it is normal for the skin to peel. This process usually begins a few days after treatment, when the top, damaged layer of skin comes off. The degree of shedding depends on the intensity of the peel that was applied. For example, a deeper peel may cause more peeling than a milder one. This shedding helps to remove dead skin cells and make room for new, healthier skin. It is important to take good care of the skin during this period to promote recovery and minimize irritation.
