Preparation and aftercare for PMU removal
For the removal of permanent makeup, it is important that it is at least 6 months old. When the PMU is old enough it can be lasered provided some preparations are made.
Treatment cannot be performed when:
- You are tanned by sun, self-tanner, spray tan or tanning bed
- You are pregnant or breastfeeding
Skin reaction is possible after treatment.
This often manifests as redness or slight swelling. For this we make at
Skincenters use of Laserat cream developed by a pharmaceutical
company, especially for after laser treatments. Laserat provides immediate cooling
and faster recovery after treatment.
After treatment, sun exposure should be avoided and application of SPF50 is necessary. Contact with water is also best kept to a minimum. Thus, baths, sauna and infrared are not recommended during the recovery period.

Sessions
The treatment consists of a customized course. This is based on characteristics of the PMU such as: ink color, depth of ink, amount of ink, age of PMU,... The number of sessions can also vary due to the above mentioned factors.
Often we see with PMU an average of 3-6 sessions for a complete removal.
Between each session there is a recovery period of at least 6 weeks needed.

Permanent makeup lasering can be done in the summer, but after treatment, sun exposure should be avoided and application of SPF50 is necessary. The skin is in recovery so you should stay out of the sun as much as possible for 3-4 weeks. It is also best to avoid the sun 2-3 weeks before treatment.
