Stretch marks
Striae or stretch marks are streaks on the skin caused by the skin being stretched too much locally in too short a time. The subcutaneous connective tissue is torn, so to speak. We know stretch marks mainly as a typical phenomenon after pregnancy, during growth spurts in adolescence or when we are overweight. However, stretch marks also often manifest due to the influence of certain hormones. At first, the stretch marks are purple or bright red. With age, they become slightly whitish in color.
At least 70% of women and 40% of men suffer from stretch marks to some degree. Especially the abdomen, buttocks, legs, breasts and hips are prone to this.

Treatment stretch marks
To treat stretch marks, we often choose laser treatment.
How does the treatment work?
During the treatment, tiny holes are made at various depths in the skin. The laser beam actually interferes with the moisture contained in the skin. As a result, the moisture in these bits of skin evaporates. This stimulates the fibroblasts to produce collagen and elastin.
By combining the Nd:YAP and Er:Yag wavelengths, we can work at different depths which provides an even better effect.
This laser is a fractional non-ablative laser. This ensures that there is a short downtime associated with the treatment.
It can be chosen to combine the treatment with a peeling, this provides an even more beautiful result.
Preparation and aftercare
Redness may occur after the treatment and may last up to about 48 hours. Depending on the intensity of the treatment, the skin may also swell slightly. Swelling can sometimes last a little longer (several days).
As small holes are made in the skin, a kind of "grid" becomes visible, which can turn into small scabs or just fade away with the days. This depends on the intensity of the treatment.
It is important to avoid sun and tanning both 6 weeks before and after treatment. We also recommend using a sunscreen with high protection factor.
Prices
For a customized treatment plan and exact price per session, you can always book an intake session at one of our centers.
