Do you regret one of your tattoos? Maybe the design has faded, or the meaning is no longer relevant? Or do you simply do not like it anymore? We understand only too well that in some cases a tattoo is an impulsive decision or that you sometimes forget that a tattoo is forever. So there are many reasons why you might want to get your tattoo removed. But we have good news for you: at Skincenters, we can help you with tattoo removal.
How does a tattoo removal at Skincenters work?
There are many salons offering treatments and remedies that are not all equally effective. There are even creams on the market that claim to remove your tattoo completely, but unfortunately it is not that easy. The chemical ingredients often only make your tattoo uglier because only the colours and lines fade. A real no-go!
Another possible option is to have your tattoo surgically removed. This is especially an alternative for smaller tattoos (up to 2 cm) where the surgeon numbs you locally, cuts away the piece and then stitches the skin back together. This is a quick way to remove your tattoo, but a big disadvantage is that you are left with an ugly scar after the operation.
As a professional skin care centre, we opt for the most efficient treatment with a high-quality result. This without damaging your skin.
Our solution: Picolaser
The Picolaser is the newest laser for the safe and painless removal of tattoos. With 4 wavelengths, it is the most developed technique with very short pulses and makes it possible to remove all colours of ink at all depths.
We choose the Picolaser because it offers a fast and versatile solution for tattoo removal. Both large and small ink particles are addressed in all types of colours, and the largest spot size allows us to easily work deep. This means fewer and shorter sessions are needed for an optimal result without scars, and it requires a smaller investment from you.
Laser treatment involves the application of high-speed, high-energy pulses of light to the tattoo. This light is absorbed by the ink, after which the pigment in the tattoo is broken down into small particles and removed by the body itself. The laser beam makes such small holes, that the skin will recover very quickly after treatment. This way you get a nice result without scars!
On average, you need 3 to 6 sessions, but this depends on various factors such as the colour of the ink and your skin's reaction to the treatment. For optimal results, we recommend waiting 4 to 8 weeks between each session. This gives your body enough time to get rid of the released ink in a natural way.
Not sure how many sessions are needed for your tattoo? Send us a message and we will be happy to help you.
Thanks to Skincenters, you are in good hands for the removal of your tattoo. Each tattoo laser treatment is tailored to your situation. We therefore only work with the best lasers on the market, allowing our specialists to work safely, quickly and effectively. The Picolaser is the cream of the crop when it comes to tattoo removal and offers many advantages:
- Ultra-fast pulses for minimal heat exposure
- No scarring
- Stunning results after just one treatment
- Painless with faster skin recovery
- Removes all colours in fewer and shorter sessions
What after the laser?
Immediately after the treatment, a white haze occurs, also called "laser snow". This is normal and disappears spontaneously after 10-20 minutes. The skin may also feel burning and the area is usually somewhat red and swollen. By cooling the skin well immediately after the treatment, the swelling and burning reduces.
Subsequently, blisters can also form with tissue fluids. Of course, we want to avoid this absolutely. That is why after each treatment with the Picolaser, we will post-treat your skin with the 'focused dots' handpiece. With this, we puncture micro holes under your skin, which allows heat to escape from the skin. This is very important for avoiding blisters and scars, and helps the skin to recover faster.
After a laser treatment aftercare is very important for a beautiful healing process of your skin. There are therefore a number of things you can do after you have had a tattoo removal session. We list them for you:
- Try to avoid exposure to the sun. Choose to tape the treated tattoo or use a sunscreen of at least spf 30.
- Drink a lot of water to get rid of the waste.
- Keep the skin oily by using Vaseline or another oily cream.
- A cold pack can help reduce burning or itching.
- Do not puncture the blisters. They protect the underlying skin and may slow down the healing process.
